Bush Haven Native Bird Rehabilitation Trust is a community organisation based in Otatara, a semi-rural suburb of Invercargill on the southern coast of the New Zealand mainland. It was founded in 2008 by Russell and May Evans, who had been looking after injured native birds at their home in Otatara for some years and wished to set up a charitable organisation to continue and expand their work.
We are run by volunteers, and now operate reception/rehabilitation aviaries and a release aviary in the Invercargill area. Between us we have over a hundred years experience with native birds.
The Trust has Department of Conservation permits to hold and rehabilitate native birds and is a member of the Wildlife Rehabilitators Network of New Zealand (WReNNZ). It is a registered charity (registration number CC38814). The Trust Deed and past Annual Returns are on the Charities Services website.
If you would like to support our work in any way, please contact us. For donations, we can provide receipts to enable you to claim back tax.
We are very thankful to our funders.
