Since the charitable trust was established in 2009, annual grants have been gratefully received from:

Fonterra Edendale, Casein Department have in 2014, constructed an aviary extension to house a pair of South Island Kaka in the hope that they will breed for release into wild programmes in the Nelson Lakes and other areas in the South Island where kaka numbers have declined.

Many individual and group visitors to the rehabilitation centre have also given donations and we could not look after the birds without these, especially as in the past year some of our major sponsors have reduced our allocation. This is unsettling as costs for food, power, aviary maintenance and other incidentals as well as bird numbers are increasing.
